can this PNY -- NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Graphics Card fit our inspiron 530?
core 2 duo
-Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium Edition SP1, 64-Bit
-4GB3 Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz- 4DIMMs
-500GB4 Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
-integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100

It also has 300 watts power supply

If you can jocky it into position at the bottom PCI port, yeah, but it runs VERY hot, might wanna invest in new fans, especially on an Inspirion. Not too sure about the PSU though...

you really dont need a new graphic card, i have and could play crysis on the highest settings:
windows 95
media accilator 12
dx 3.5
0.3 ram
0.1 mb of membroy
4 video ram

0 MB
0 video ram.

haha, yeah i have similar config, unfortunately i could only play crysis on medium - whats your secret?

Anyhoo - yer biggest problem is definately going to be the PSU - you will have to upgrade for an 8800gt - Also these cards are a pretty good size so you should have a lookski under the hood and make sure you can squeeze one in - mine was a pretty tight fit but she works. Finally while you've got the hood open you should check to make sure you have a PCI-E 2.0 slot because depending on the age of your mobo you may have an agp expansion slot - which the nvidia 8-series doesn't accomodate.

Anyhoo good luck.

oh yeah i also got in 2008. it has PCIe 1.0 slot

yeah pcie 1.0 is rocking but you will def have psu problems - you are prolly sitting on a 300watt psu and yer gonna need 450w at least.
