I look forward to getting into Gears this time around...4/5 fom Gamepro is doo doo lol (sorry they give 5's out like candy on Halloween)

I believe in karma. That means I can do bad things to people all day long and I assume they deserve it...i LOVE this place!

its was obviously GamePro would give it a 5/5, since gears got a 4.75. well, der GamePro, i would only think that after lookin' at screen shots the past year almost, the game would be a "departure". i mean, hint it has vehicles. but nothing the less, that's still an 80% i guess.

lol, " A departure from series' roots"?

Thanks for that GP lol

It wasn't the Mario-esque platforming of Banjo-Kazooie that made me love it, as much as the wackiness, cleverness, and humor.

And that's all still intact.

Ditto.

Honestly, I am liking this one more than the original two.......

The actual gameplay is more fun.....

I appreciate the change. If the game was just a remake of the original, I would think less of it.

Maybe around 82-86 I say.

That's what I'm thinking as well.I'd really like to see something around 90 though.

Project Snowblind has a 79 on metacritic but I loved that game as hell

I'm starting to think Banjo will be hugely underrated because of it's changes from the original two.
I don't think so. GTA4 was a departure from its roots, and that got critical acclaim.

It wasn't nearly as big a change as this is.

indeed. GTAIV was all on realism itself. not really a departure.

What's this about GTA 4 being different?

What was different?

You kill people, steal cars, cause mayhem, and cheat to get weapons.

Sounds the same as the last 3 to me.....

They changed it from funny and whacky to boring and realistic.

They also added that douchebag called your cousin.

Originally, they were planning on doing a remake of the original Banjo, but changing the objectives.

For example: In the Mumbo's Mountain level, a new task being tossed around would feature a gigantic termite queen erupting from it's hill, and you must convince Conga to throw oranges at it.

Thank God they didn't go on with that.

Indeed. That would've been exceedingly terrible.

There are no planes.

So, according to S4NDM4N, massive change.

There were also a lot less weapons! I'm saying the GTA4 change was there but definitely not as big as the new Banjo change.
