Has anyone read this book? We're reading it for school, and I'm almost done (about 15 pages left). Fans of Brothers In Arms or the TV Series Band Of Brothers (the book is a lot about the regime and the main characters in it).

It's really a vivid description of war (it's WW I) and how it can desensitise a person.

Personally, I'm not a big reader, but if you are into reading and war stories, check this one out

Read J.D. Salinger's 9 stories. There's a few duds but the book, overall is exuberantly fascinating. Especially the first short story.

I am Salinger whore, though.

It was pretty good I thought, but not the best I've ever read.
