What are your favorite 16-bit game endings?

3. Phantasy Star 4: End of the Millennium (Genesis) Great series ending/ I want Phantasy Star 5.....

4. Lunar: The Silver Star (Sega CD) Working Designs knew how to do great anime cutscenes.....

5. Shining Force (Genesis) Still alive!!!!!

6. Soul Blazer (SNES) You give up eternal life for love.....

7. Cosmic Fantasy 2 (Turbo Duo) Great sci-fi JRPG ending.....

8. Lunar 2: Eternal Blue (Sega CD) Two words, Working Designs.....

9. Gaiares (Genesis) A shooter with a Phantasy Star feel to it.....

10. Chrono Trigger (SNES) Classic.....

Not in any order:

1. Evil Ending in Streets of Rage. You become the boss!

2. Phantasy Star 2. For sure a freakishly creative ending.

3. Sonic. If you hold down the "A" button while the computer controls sonic he dies or does dumb stuff.

4. Super Mario World. Long and killer music that brings a tear to my eye.

5. Splatter House 3. There were multiple endings with killer cut scenes.

6. Maniac Mansion. The one where you nuke the house.

7. Final Fantasy 3 on SNES. A.K.A. FF6

8. Golden Axe. All the characters jump out of the arcade machine and chase people down the street.

9. TMNT 4. Watching Shredder fall to his doom.

10. Snatcher Sega CD. Twisted Kojima >

Other great 16-bit endings-

Phantasy Star 3 (Genesis) 4 different endings/ a first at that time.....

Ys Book 1 and 2 (Turbo CD) The good and bad characters danced with each other during the credits, and did silly stuff.....

Wow, I've played nearly all the games you guys listed but I can't remember hardly any endings (except for the Mario). Maybe I had trouble finishing games when I was a kid.

Yeah I also loved all the different endings for Street Fighter 2. Ryu walks away for the next challenge, Honda eats with his kid, Ken gets married, Sagat takes over as boss, Chun Li takes that thing off her head and looks hot, Guile sits by the fire with his family, Zangief dances with Gorbachov (SP?) ...etc...funny stuff.

You better break out those classics now, and get to work................Its never to late to play a classic.

Also Eternal Champions was cool. All the fighters were dead and they got to fight to return to the place they died if they won the tournament. They were to change the outcome of their death. Like a second chance at life. Pretty freakin' weird.

Here are my picks (in no particular order):

1. ActRaiser (SNES)
2. Breath of Fire (SNES) (the "good" ending)
3. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
4. Final Fantasy III (SNES)
5. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)
6. Lunar: Eternal Blue (Sega CD)
7. Phantasy Star IV: The End of the Millennium (Genesis)
8. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES)
9. Super Mario World (SNES)
