The RPG Battle: PS3 versus Xbox 360

source:rpgsite.net

It seems our articles about the top RPGs coming in October, November and December for Xbox 360 and PS3 caused a bit of a debate amongst people in our comments and elsewhere about just which system has a superior game line-up for RPG fans. We thought this made for a perfect opportunity to view just how many RPGs are coming and how many are already out for each system!

While all this information is available in our database, we figured itd be useful for those looking to discuss the finer points of each consoles line-up to have a list all in one place. The tables below are presented in no particular order, and do not reflect when games were or are to be released. Here we go... Please read the FAQ before commenting! This is a simple list nothing more!

FAQ:
Q: Hey, wheres...?
A: If weve missed something, get in touch via the contact page or the comments. Were not including unannounced projects without names (so you wont find Untitled Namco RPG on this list) and were also not including stuff that hasnt been 100% confirmed, so while Tales of Vesperia is likely for PS3, we are not putting on this list as it hasnt been officially announced. Were not including any PSN or XBLA titles, either or anything thats had nothing new released since 2006 there were a few for both consoles but theyve been so quiet lets assume they got cancelled.

Q: Hey, Mass Effect isnt Exclusive!
A: Yes, I know its on the PC. But This is a battle of the consoles, and in the console world it is 360 exclusive.

Q: What else have you omitted?
A: Expansion packs like Shivering Isles, Two Worlds: The Temptation etc.

Our work here is done. The list seems pretty even overall, with Xbox 360 edging out in the exclusives, but mostly due to ports of lower budget PC RPGs. Draw your own conclusions, people, and feel free to drop them in the comments or on our RPGSite Forums.

They are pretty close. But there are still many RPG's coming out for the Xbox360. Its a good thing though. The PS3 is getting more shooters.

The 360 has Mass Effect, and that's a HUGE advantage to overcome.
