I am having a problem putting my ps3 online when I set every thing up it can not find an ip address can any one help me and if it maters I have a wii and it too is on line no problem

God, I hate that guy. Anyway, try contacting Sony to find more out about the problem you have with your PS3. People come on GPO thinking they can find a solution to their problems, but the best thing is to take it to Sony themselves. If you need the address, it's playstation.com. Click on the US link. I don't understand what's so hard about just going to the global site instead of coming onto a forum where you'll get idiotic response like from Wulf, lol. Saves you the time and effort of creating another useless thread.

Have you tried scan it automatically.....for an easier setup. Not sure whats the main problem from your description. Probably call sony or google the problem.

If you use an ethernet cable you have to shut down the modem for a minute before hooking it up.

Have you verified whether your router has a firewall that prevents the PS3 from connecting to it, thus not allow you to obtain an IP address?
