Mark my words, I've just been reading through an article on IGN written by some reviewers who have played the unfinished version and all I'm hearing is apathy and a tinge of disappointment, I reckon the game will be good but nothing special, the company making it have not got enough experience with the genre, and sound like they're going to make the same mistakes as they did originaly (ie bad NPC AI) , Also , the game has been in development for way too long, which always points to trouble (Haze anyone?)

I'm guessing 8.5 / 10.

A little better than the first one, but still nothing special besides a pretty face.

I read the same preview for IGNuk and there's 1 good preview and 1 bad preview. The guy who isn't impressed talks mostly about color pallet (too gray) and A.I (which they already said was dumbed down). Not to mention he admits to only playing 1 level of the game and is saying the color pallet is too gray. I myself isn't expecting a "masterpiece' but just a really fun and enjoyable game. I would like to see some different environments and a bit more variety in gameplay though. But the game is looking good to me.

I read a 1up staffer blog a while back where disappointment was expressed regarding Killzone 2. His chief concerns were that it had lots of cheesy scripting and the AI was bad. He didn't come to this conclusion just from a video, he played it. I wanted to link it the other day to dareal's thread but I can't find it now. I can't find a way at 1up to effectively search the blog entries. But trust me, it is there somewhere.

What exactly are you guys expectations for Killzone? I don't really think there is alot of people thinking it'll be a genre altering "masterpiece" of a game. I just think it'll be a incredibly fun and enjoyable game based off what i've seen already. It's still 6 months away from being released and we've only seen the multiplayer aspects and 1 level from the single player campaign.

Guys like dareal and spiky are convinced it will be the best shooter ever. I feel that it has that potential considering the enormous amount of resources and time being put into it. But I am skeptical. The development team's past outings suggest to me that they may be incapable of producing a genre defining game no matter how bottomless their budget is. Time will tell. Whether it lives up to the hype or is a disappointment I really won't be all that surprised either way.

Man why can't you guys just wait for the damn game to come out first and when it does, then state your true opinion. I gave up on reviews years ago cause alot of games that game site and magazines gave bad reviews too I ended up liking. Too many people have different taste; that's just the way it is.

The more and more I see and read on KZ2, the more and more I think it will be the next PREY, pretty as hell but in the end just an mediocre FPS. The devs are crap plain and simple and have yet to deliver one decent game, KZ sucked, Shellshock sucked, Invader sucked, etc, so I have no idea why some think this will be good. Because it looks good, fuck that, I have seen many a game that looks amazing that in the end was still crap to play, and KZX2 looks to be the next. Mark my words, RFOM 2 will be the PS3 shooter of Choice, not KZ2.
