  • Best movie of the Year! If not of all time......

Post a Reply

Transformers raked in 700 million plus worldwide, and now it's being shown in Imax theatres. It was the best movie of the year....if not, the best movie of all time. There hasn't been another this year quite as good...not even Harry Potter or Pirates of the Caribbean III, which was unexpected. I definitely don't mind seeing again in the Imax. Transformers ruled.

Talk about Fanboyism. Greatest movie of all time huh?

Yeah, Resident Evil III was good, but it was missing that extra something to make it incredible

Well, I can't think of another movie that was so well loved world wide. Transformers was it.

Hmm...

Transformers sucked.

Oh yes, and not only did it suck a little, it sucked miserably.

Let's start with the basics though first, let's talk about it's valadity as a film. Michael Bay, who by the way is an arrogrant, pompous ass, who believes he knows exactly what a film needs, and without saying it that he's the best filmmaker ever. Every line, every adjustment to the film, all of it was so damn ridiculous. For me the entire film and Michael Bay as a person, was hit home with the line, "This is bigger than Armageddon!", I was waiting for him to stick in the line, "This is more epic than Titanic!". All of the casting decisions were terrible (except for that Fox of a Fox Megan!). The characters were derivative (THERE WERE 4 TOKEN BLACK GUYS!), the plot wasn't even about the Transformers, and the only saving grace, the action, was destroyed by the "artistic" (sloppy) choice of camera work he decided to employ.

Now let's talk about it's connection to the Franchise.

WHAT CONNECTION?! Besides the inclusion of Peter Cullen as the voice of Optimus Prime, this doesnt' follow any of the rich storyline that Transformers once had. And let me tell you, it was a wonderful one. In fact, Michael Bay choose to base it off of the fuckin' toyline! You can't base a film off of a toyline...for fucks sake. His choices for the little things, like the flames on Optimus made him look completely ridiculous! Not to mention that the Transformers to Human screen time ratio was favoring the humans way too much. In fact, the movie should have just been called "Humans who happen to, for a time, meet the Transformers".

This is hardly the best movie of the year, and if you honestly think that, than apparently you dont' watch very many movies.

It made me want to snuggle with my Optimus Prime action figure and weep. That's all I'm going to say.

I call 'em as I see 'em comin'

Agreed, it was a meh for me as well.

Don't get me wrong it was pretty alright - just not spectacular

Of all time? I try to respect people's opinions, but I really hope you jest. I didn't see Transformers, but as far as I'm concerned, no movie can top The Wizard of Oz.

I'm a REALLY improper fraction.
I don't know about all time, but a movie that I thought that was very well done was 1408, based on Stephen King's novel. That movie was just incredible in my opinion. Later this year, there's Saw IV, but I'm not convinced it can top the mind of Stephen King.

Photobucket Fuck...Yo...COUCH!
best movie this year has either been 3:10 to yuma or waitress
