The hell are you talking about? The use of the analog controller has been made a standard for all PS2 games now. I can safely say at least 75% of PS2 games require the use of the analog sticks.
Unless you're talking about the PS1 Joysticks, that was many years ago. It came a little late so not many developed on it. The PS1 Joystick controllers could be connected to the PS2 for use as well.
Even so, Sony's sunk pretty low...
