While, I was waiting for the repair, I went ahead and bought a new 360 (#2). The new one RROD right out of the box, so I returned it for a new system (#3).
The repair came back and failed immediately, so I sent it back, and they sent me a new console (#4).
Console (#3), the new one I bought in February 2007, failed that summer... after about a month of waiting, I finally got a new 360 (#5). Also, that summer was when MS finally acknowledged that there was a problem, extended the warranty, and refunded my money for my 1st 360 repair.
I ended up selling one of my 360's (#4) last November and gave (#5) to my brother a few weeks ago. Now, I just bought (#6), which is the first 360 I've had with HDMI...
I really wanted HDMI, cuz I'm going completely digital on my HDTV. I've moved my old Xbox, Sega Saturn, and Sega Genesis to my other TV in another room. But, for my main gaming TV, everything is HDMI-ONLY. My Comcast HD-DVR, PS3, and now Xbox 360 all HDMI :)

trying to give gamers all the BASIC EXPECTED features that Microsoft has set the trend for.
