Haven't been around here in a few weeks, my PC blew up. Something that has to do with the power went out in it and the thing is too old to bother fixing so I'm saving up for another one. So I am clueless about what is going on in the gaming world right now.

But anyway, I took a look at gamerankings and the scores for GTA4 are freaking hard to believe. They were at nearly 99% for 360 and nearly 100% for PS3. Geez, looks like it might get the highest average ever. Is it really that fantastic? I had GTA Double-Pack for the original Xbox and it bored me to death. I played only a few hours and then shelved it until I finally gave all my Xbox stuff away when I got the 360. I was planning on buying a game this weekend, was leaning towards DMC4, and when I see those outrageously high scores it makes me think of getting it despite having not liked the previous ones. Is it a lot better than the last-gen ones? Is it possible that someone who didn't care for the previous ones would like this one? Also, is the 360 version inferior to the PS3 version somehow? I ask that because the average is 1% higher for the PS3. I don't know if there is a real reason for that or if it is just because more sites reviewed one version than the other or simply a coincidence that means nothing or whatever. Not that it's really important, I don't have the PS3 anyway, was just curious. But how much better is this GTA than the others and can someone who didn't much care for the others change their mind about the series after playing this one?

most critics are giving it high scores but i've seen a lot of disappointment from gamers

if you didn't like the previous GTAs, chances are you won't like this one. it's the same type of game that it's always been. it's worth a rental to see if you like it. i love it, but i liked the others. especially Vice City.

no its not if you've played any gta you've played 4. the games no where near perfect some reviewers seriously had to get paid off to claim such. its good like the other gtas (except the radio SUCKS balls this time around) just at most its a 9.5 i'd give it an 8 personaly. if your not sure rent it yo, good game just overhyped like halo 3.

Its typical GTA. That can either be good or bad depending on who you are. So far, I'm a little more interested in this game and don't see myself getting bored quickly like I did with some of the previous games. I haven't played the multi yet. Seems like fun, and that's what pushed over the edge to buy it this time. I'm trying to find the time to split time between this game, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and Persona 3 FES. Can't wait for summer......

Yeah, but Halo 3 was averaging between 93%-94%, not freaking 99%-100%. I know that's only a few points difference but when you get up into the 90s I feel that each additional point has more significance than a few points does further down the ladder. But after the few replies I've read I think I'll just go ahead and get DMC4 because I know I like that kind of game. Don't know what it is about GTA or sandbox games in general but I've tended to not care for them much for whatever reason.

Welcome back dude! The game if frigging awesome, great story, the graphics are pretty good with the exception to the character models but all else looks pretty sweet and it has pretty cool shoot outs!! I had DMC4 but it gets boring after you change into Dante since well............ youll find out in due time if you make the mistake of buying it!!

Just read an article that says this runs at only 630p native on PS3 ( And is then scaled to 720p ), and is truly 720p native on 360. Powa' of da' Cell! Ha ha.
