  • Will the 360's price drop make any difference?

Post a Reply

I know that based on the success that the PS3 has had wit their price drop, people may say that this price drop will have the same effect on the xbox 360. Honestly, I don't think it will make the same difference that the PS3 price drop had. First and foremost, the xbox 360 didn't really NEED a price drop. Price was never a problem with the 360. People were willing to pay 400 dollars for their 360. So I don't think that this is something people have been clamoring for. And secondly, the 50 dollar price drop is not a big difference. It's a difference of one new game (not even).

Umm not really, i mean i guess you could get an extra game now, if you added $10.

Well look at the PSP. It dropped only 30 dollars and lots of people (Including me and my friend) bought it. I chose to save up to get one even before the price dropped.

i think it will, system price drops usually sway people on the fence, i know my brother has wanted a 360 for about a month and a half and was just waiting for a price drop.

maybe they think by dropping the price they will attract more customer but im pretty sure their analyst are doing a wrong prediction, sincerely they're reacting to ps3 cut. both competitors gotta react to each other in ways to promote their sells.

It may. But I think price drops are for those people who wanted to get the system but was alittle out of their price range. Dropping it between $50-$20 dollars isn't much of a difference. It may get a boost but not as much as the PS3 did. Price drops only help in the short run.

I think the release of Halo 3 will sale more 360's then this price drop. Also if a second price drop happens (rumors are there will be another before the holidays) it will help alot more. I think this price drop is being done for the same reason Sony did there's. To get rid of old stock and make way for the new and improved 360 which are due out this fall (smaller chips and less chance of RR of death.)

Just give me a 47" HDTV, all 3 systems and a year supply of pizza and beer I'll be the happiest person on earth.
50 bucks! HAAAAA! For that they should've never did a price drop.

Yeah, but handhelds are different. a small price drop may effect the handhelds because they are not as heavily priced as the consoles. So the ratio between a price and a price drop is less than for a console. If the DS went down by even 20 dollars, the sales would skyrocket (more). 50 dollars for a handheld is alot, but it doesn't seem like much when you compare it to the price of a console.

the core is now 279.......and used it must be 220 now the ps3 price drop did not cause the ps3 to fly off shelves.....the only slightly outsold the 360 in every region.... for the first time in its life...since july...and i mean slightly....

the 360's price drop will stimulate some people and its almost september........ trust me....its going down in a big way..

it feels like a holiday is coming up soon................name another game on anyother console that has that effect? u cant

trying to give gamers all the BASIC EXPECTED features that Microsoft has set the trend for.
i think it will make a difference since it dropped $50 people before could of been short of the regular price like $30 so this give them a chance to buy it
