Hands-On: World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade Visual Tour

Less than three weeks. That's all that holds back a global horde of World of Warcraft players from the glory of its coming expansion. Characters that haven't been active for months are being resurrected and prepared for a journey into a new unknown. The mounting excitement is all but palpable within the game's servers; Azeroth is about to get a whole lot bigger.

Of course, a few lucky players have already been able to play The Burning Crusade for quite some time now. The expansion has been evolving through numerous Beta builds for many months, and a small army of testers has been and continues to work diligently finding and squashing those pesky bugs that make a habit of popping up in all the unfortunate places. They have, first-hand, seen the brilliant and cavernous depths of the Exodar, newfound home of the Draenei. They have walked the paths of Hellfire Peninsula and flown the skyways of the Netherstorm, and seen all that Outland has to offer.

They are, basically, worthy of our jealousy.

For those of you that haven't had the opportunity to explore the new wonders The Burning Crusade has to offer, here's a chance to get a bit more in the know. With two new races and four new zones to explore in Azeroth alone, there are a lot of new places to see and quests to experience. One of the most beautiful new locations, the Eversong Woods, is home to Silvermoon City and Sunstrider Isle. The former serves as the home city of the Blood Elves, The Burning Crusade's addition to the Horde ranks. The latter acts as their starting location.

Outrunner Alarion, a questgiver on the border between Sunstrider Isle and the mainland.

The journey from Sunstrider Isle to the gates of Silvermoon will take new Blood Elf characters up through the first few levels of what is destined to be a long and exciting adventure. Join us as we follow the travels of a young mage, Navara, as she makes her way on that journey. Let the Elves' architecture take your breath away, and learn the layout of the Eastern Kingdoms' northernmost peninsula. But be warned: If you are not a fan of spoilers and wish to experience it all for yourself come January 16, then turn away now.

Still with us? Okay then; let's go.
