First Look: Maxis Announces The Sims 2 University Expansion Pack

The Sims are back, in the first expansion pack for the ever-popular Sims 2!

EA announced today that it was working on the first expansion pack for The Sims 2, set for release in March of 2005. In The Sims 2 University, players will take their Sims out of the house and into a whole new town as they move out and go to college for the first time.

In college, a world of choices await the Sims as everything from where to live (dorms, fraternity or sorority) to what to study. The 11 different majors will open up four new career paths--that is, assuming you graduate. Some of the campus locations available to explore include coffee houses, lounges, pool halls and gyms.

"We are thrilled to open up a whole new stage of life for the Sims, allowing players to lead them through all the challenges of college and living the exciting university lifestyle of the dorms, parties and exams," said Sinjin Bain, executive producer and Maxis vice president. "This title is also the first in a line of expansion packs that will address our players? desires, further develop The Sims 2 franchise and continually expand the world of the Sims creating almost endless gameplay and storytelling possibilities."
