Tron 2.0.1.1

Turn on your blacklights. Whip out your Virtual Boy. Tron 2.0 is coming?and its bringing a new video game with it.

Capitalizing on the enthusiastic response to the prospect of a sequel to their 1982 then-disaster/now-revered movie Tron, Disney has announced that a 20th anniversary DVD and a new Tron video game are in the works, in addition to the new Tron 2.0 movie. Original director Steven Lisberger has recorded over four hours of commentary for the DVD (slated to come out January 15 next year), and the new Tron PC game is in development for a prospective 2003 release. Disney Interactive says that the game could easily show up on the Xbox as well.

For those of you not familiar with the Tron-phenon: In the original Tron, Lloyd Bridges? son discovered that inside every computer was a world of fluorescent paint, black lights, and evil jai-alai players. Scarily enough, every prediction about the future of technology made in that movie came true. The original arcade game featured four different budget Atari games in one cabinet.
