It may be small, but this little baby has an extra zoom feature activated by clicking the right-analog stick button. Carrying 12 rounds per clip, this side arm will keep you in the game, but there are far better alternatives.

The upgraded version of the Pistol is a far better choice for distinguishing Locust. Although there are only six rounds per clip, one headshot or two body shots will take down most enemies in the game.

One of the starting weapons in the game, the Machine Gun fires in six-round blasts, similar to Halo's Battle Rifle, yet the damage is only moderate. It's a tough call which is better, the Machine gun or the Assault Rifle. In the end, it comes down to preference.

The Assault Rifle is the weapon of choice, and comes highly recommended by Tenacious Moses. Fully automatic, the Assault Rifle provides consistence suppressant fire. The damage seems a bit weaker than the Machine Gun, but the constant stream of bullets is a fair trade.

The Assault Rifle comes equipped with a Chainsaw Bayonet for all your close-quarter combat needs. Simply hold down the B button and let her rip.

It's smooth riding from here on out. Once you get the Shotgun things begin to flow, especially the pools of Locust blood. Like every Shotgun from any game, get close and there's really no need to aim.

The Grenade Launcher is carried by Locust Boomers, they are large, in charge, and do not go down easy. If you're able to down one of these bad boys you'll be rewarded with the "Boom Boom Stick." More like a rocket launcher than a standard grenade launcher, this hefty piece of equipment will not lob grenades, but rather rocket them in your enemy's direction. Be wary, these grenades do not bounce, be precise when you aim.

The Torque Bow is quite a unique weapon indeed. Similar to a compound bow, the tension of the Torque Bow will determine whether or not the arrow will stick in an enemy. The best part about the Torque Bow is, each arrow is an exploding arrow.

What's a shooter without a sniper rifle? The Sniper Rifle in Gears of War is no different than any other rifle; it can be fired no-scope or zoomed in for massive damage. In multiplayer, aim for the head otherwise your opponent will just regenerate their health, or if you can pull off a successful active reload and get the damage boost, consider them dead.

The Frag Grenade in Gears of War can be thrown with accuracy by holding down the Left Trigger or can be thrown blindly. The Frag Grenade in GoW is equipped with spikes, and much like Halo, getting close to an enemy and hitting the B button to melee will "stick 'em" and mark them for death.
