Incredible Crisis

This whacked out adventure throws in everything but the kitchen sink. It's wild, it's weird, but it's fun too!

Ever have a really, really bad day? We're not just talking a "forgot-my-homework, my-goldfish-died and I'm wearing mismatched socks" kind of day we're talking a bad day of the "rolling boulder, terrorist bombing, alien invasion, and giant killer teddy bear" variety. That's the kind of day that Teneo, his wife Etsuko, and the rest of their happy suburban family are having in Incredible Crisis for the PlayStation.

Incredible Crisis consists of a sequence of mini-games that tell the story of one family's horrible adventures. Each mini-game consists of button mashing, PaRappa-style timing exercises, artful dodging, or a combination of all three as you guide each member of the family separately through their day, trying to ensure they don't get too annoyed at their situation. Incredible Crisis is not for everyone, but fans of the utterly bizarre will undoubtedly eat it up.

Graphics: Hyper-stylized characters are made up of very few polygons, but the simplicity, variety, and bizarre charm of the levels and characters is undeniable.

Sound: Goofy-yet-groovy tunes and a nice assortment of memorable character screams add multiple layers of strangeness.

Control: Jack of all trades, master of none, and frequently frustrating. The timing in the dance mini-games isn't very tight, controlling vehicles is a chore, and pressing the same button as quickly as possible has never ever been good gameplay.

FunFactor: An absolutely ridiculous game that's only good because it's so unique and bizarre, Incredible Crisis is best enjoyed with a group of friends watching, pointing, laughing, and furrowing their brow in confusion and horror.
