Two of a kind
Honestly, there just isn't enough of a difference between the two versions of SFIII to say you're getting two games for the price of one, but the package does offer some fantastic fighting action. SFIII is much more enjoyable at home where you can safely get used to the nuances in the engine and practice parrying like a pro. The graphics are top notch for 2D sprites and animate like crazy, outdoing even the likes of the Marvel vs. Capcom series. The sound also packs a similar punch with a nice balance of bone crunching effects and foot-tapping background music.
Strike now or 3rd Strike later
The big question remains whether to jump on Double Impact now or wait for the best yet, SFIII: 3rd Strike (featuring the return of Chun Li). Hardcore fans are going to be on automatic and get it right away, but it's a tough situation for the average fighting fan. Double Impact is definitely a worthy purchase if your budget allows.
