Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

A port of the PlayStation version of the game

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis arrives on the Dreamcast, with more character costumes than the PlayStation version, and up-front Mercenaries mini-game, but that's about it. Gameplay is pure Resident Evil: You collect weapons, destroy monsters, and solve puzzles. Additionally, a towering indestructible titan--Nemesis--is hot on your heels.
RE3 delivers the necessary goods, including a strong audio track, for-the-most-part responsive controls, and arresting gameplay additions over other Evil titles such as a dodge maneuver and a non-linear story. Unfortunately, the visuals aren't all they should be. The sharp atmospheric environ-ments perfectly convey the games themes of doom and terror, but characters and creatures are rife with breakup and distortion and lack the fine details pre-sent in, say, Code: Veronica.
If you're looking for an enjoyable Resident Evil post-Veronica time-waster, Nemesis is worth play-ing. The game packs a punch, but the less-than-stellar visuals diminish the impact.
