The Rage of the Wookiees expansion for Star Wars Galaxies offers new quests, new ships, and a whole new planet to explore.

MMORPGs tend to be very contentious: for any given update, however minute, legions of players rise up in support of and in opposition to those changes. Star Wars Galaxies isn't immune to this phenomenon, and a recent revamp of combat has proved particularly divisive. If you're a fan of the new combat system, you'll get good mileage out of Rage of the Wookiees. If you hate it, nothing here is likely to assuage your pain.

The main attraction is, of course, the Wookie home planet of Kashyyyk, which is divided into four main areas, each with a different aesthetic. As you'd expect, there's a wealth of new characters to meet, and over a hundred challenging new quests to complete. Whether you're an Imperial stooge, a Rebel troublemaker, or an independent freelancer, there's more than enough to keep you busy. There are even new spaceships to hop into, like Anakin's Jedi Starfighter, fresh from Episode III, and the newfound ability to mine in space.

As seems to be the norm in MMORPGs these days, there are bugs to be ironed out, and some beasties that seem desperately in need of balancing, but the overall sense you get from Rage of the Wookiees is that new frontiers await--and isn't that why you play these things in the first place?
