Ghost Master

The Ghosts get to bust back in this haunting sim that smartly combines eerie settings and frightening spectral effects with amusing horror film?spoofing locations.

Fusing Dungeon Keeper with The Sims while expertly balancing a spooky yet comedic atmosphere, Ghost Master delivers on almost every level but fails to add the frills, flairs, and fun factor to make this game a classic.

Who Ya Gonna Call?
Ghost Master challenges you to put the spook back into the sprites, specters, and poltergeists in the eerie town of Gravenville. You?ll enter 14 cleverly designed scenarios and scare the bejeezus out of the mortals by strategically placing your ghosts to maximize their unique powers. Compelling role-playing elements enable you to choose your squad from a worthy stable of phantoms while earning the booty to improve their abilities. Some levels have more specific goals, like scaring particular humans (you can study their deepest fears to gain strategic insight) or leading the mortals to uncover hidden corpses that will join your team. Master of the House
Eerie re-creations of sets from movies like Titanic and The Amityville Horror are evidence of developer Sick Puppies? love for the genre, and there?s no doubt as to why the ghosts? spectral lighting effects send their victims into a maddening pit of insanity. The spine-chilling graphics are marred only by bland character design and some dull textures. Similarly, the morose voice acting and amusing Sim-lish mortals speak makes for entertaining audio, but the repetitive and uncreative music will rattle your chains. Even the intuitive controls, which allow for easy camera shifting, stumble by failing to offer hotkey options.

Ghost Master?s truly bloodcurdling flaw is its lack of customization options: There are no character creator, level editor, or multiplayer options. Setbacks aside, this is a worthwhile opportunity for the ghosts to finally bust back.
