Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly

One of the PlayStation?s most-loved wannabe mascots, Spyro hits the PlayStation 2?but does he still have the magic?

Spyro, the world?s favorite purple dragon, is back in his first PlayStation 2 action/adventure?and he looks better than ever. In Enter the Dragonfly, Spyro is faced with 25 levels filled with Ripto?s minions, who are grabbing up all the dragonflies and wreaking havoc around the normally serene Dragon Realms. To defend himself through this journey, our hero must use offensive breath?not smelly breath but fire, electricity, and ice?to take out enemies and unlock new sections. Bubble breath enables Spyro to safely capture dragonflies, and his pal Sparx helps by snagging valuable gems scattered throughout the world and offering guidance at various points.

The game?s controls can be a fly in the ointment, creating occasionally awkward situations?such as having to hold the [X] button to glide and then stretch to hit the [T] button to land on a hard-to-reach spot. The visuals suffer from momentary camera glitches, which is dangerous if you lose perspective while battling an enemy or making a critical jump. For the most part, though, Spyro is a graphics bonanza with blasts of color and eye-catching nuances, such as rippling water, glowing flames, and shimmering portals. All in all, Enter the Dragonfly is a 3D-platform romp that?s sure to generate some buzz.
