Its Treasure Islander, Planet, an intergalactic pirate tale of the high seaser, spaceways.
Treasure Planet is an entertaining little action platform game that spices up Disneys space-opera retelling of Treasure Island with some wicked jet-propelled sailboard riding. You play Jim Hawkins, who has close encounters with high-tech versions of all the other classic characters like the bionic Long John Silver. The clean graphics are appropriately Disney in style and great movie clips tell the tale through 20 intergalactic levels. The 3D gameplays primarily a familiar hop-n-bop format, although its somewhat hampered by a skittish game cam and sensitive analog joystick. Solid button-work, however, enables you to leap and double-flip with ease in search of energy beacons, treasure, and passage between levels. Using simple punch and spin-kick combos, youll also whack robot roughnecks and extraterrestrial buccaneers.
Several levels transform you into a gravity-defying sailboarder. Its not Silver Surfer stuff, but youll soar to catch serious air and bust major grinds. Theres also enough speed to challenge your stick skills.
The sounds get most of its support from topnotch voice acting. The musics dramatic and energetic and nice background stuff. The effects are minimal.
Movie fans and younger gamers might enjoy charting a course to Treasure Planet. Read Treasure Island, and keep this game on your radar screen.
