Monster Rancher Advance 2

Death bunnies and giant hopping tongue-eyes wait for your loving attention in this inexplicably addictive creature-raising sequelbut how different is it from the original?

If you already own the original Monster Rancher Advance, the sequel to the fun-despite-itself Pokmon clone brings very little new elements to the tableunless you count a few new monster types, different backgrounds and training animations, a hospital where you can surgically remove your monsters bad traits, and link-cable monster breeding.

All the old curious Monster Rancher flaws are still there, including the inane battle system that feels like youre struggling against a slide bar, mind-berating music, and repetitious cycle of stat-buildingbut breeder-type personalities will still find something inexplicably addictive about Ranching on the GBA. The games never-ending cycle of monsters and simple week-by-week structure makes it a perfect pick-up-and-play-for-a-minute-or-a-day portable title. Its worth picking up if you dont have the originalbut early Monster adopters wont find enough new here to justify an upgrade.
