Tomb Raider: The Prophecy

Lara Crofts first GBA adventure looks nice, but could this be a tomb thats been raided before?
Lara Croft arrives on the GBA in an original adventure, and she looks greatthe pseudo-3D environments feature eye-catching effects, and the shadows and water look particularly slick. Laras classic moves, from blasting skeletons to dangling over chasms, perform responsively. Despite the maddening bongo music, TR makes a promising first impression. So its a shame when the game degenerates into a platform-hopping chore. Thanks to the lifeless puzzle design, TR quickly becomes dullhit the switch, jump to another ledge, repeat. Though classic games (like Flashback) have flourished with similar formulas, TR is utterly devoid of personality and flair. Where is the thrill of exploration? Eradicatedto make room for trite platform mechanics. Lara fans will buy this game anyway, but the rest of us have no excuse.
