Super Bust-A-Move 2

Yet another Bust-A-Move? Find out if this latest entry in the classic puzzle series is up to snuff.

Bust-A-Move?s always been a favorite of fans of the puzzle genre, and although there?s more power behind the game this around, Super Bust-A-Move 2 is still more of the same addictive formula.

Nothing much has changed, but that isn?t necessarily a bad thing. The premise is simple: Using a pointer/launcher, you try to keep your screen as clean as possible by hitting three or more marbles of the same color. It sounds innocent enough, but once the addiction sets in, you?ll wonder where the hours went. The only original aspect to the tried-and-true BAM engine are new characters, some of which come complete with their own disgusting personal habits.

The controls are dead-on perfect, but somewhere along the way, someone forgot to take advantage of the PlayStation 2?s processing power?something that?s readily apparent in the sights and sounds. The sprite graphics are simple and colorful but are hardly the stuff that should cause horrendous slowdown, which is inexplicably present. The audio track fares slightly better, although the monotonous music score quickly grinds on your brain?but Bust-A-Move has never been about aesthetics, anyway. For fans of the series and newcomers alike, Super Bust-A-Move 2 is a pleasant time killer.
