Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix

WARNING: Theres nothing wholesome, clever, nor good-willed about this game. You blast enemies. You blast more enemies. Then you blast some more. Oh yeah, you may just save the world during all this, but whos paying attention?
Story? What story? All I know is for the last few weeks Ive been running around blasting everything in sight. Sometimes I stop and blast the bad guy over and over again just in case but its really to see how many different horrifying animations Raven Software would add to a game that has to be the most graphically violent to date.In Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix, you play as John Mullins (yes, same as from the originating title Soldier of Fortune. Mullins is a mercenary who is not only an expert in weaponry, terrorism, biological warfare, is cooler than Ponch, from ChiPS, and seems unstoppable.
Your mission: save the doctor, save the World Trade Meeting, save Sam from the fire, and/or save the world from a bio-chemical terrorist attack what ever, just blast EVERYTHING in sight. Oh and when the game tries to pull you into the story line by playing long-winded cinematics in between each level, theres a button thatll skip right through the long and plodding fluff.
While the game is your basic first-person shoot em up, scenarios such as manning a jeeps and helicopters mounted machine gun make for some much needed diversity. While skipping through the story, you also get to blast away with about 14 real-world weapons and 10 grenades. The weapons are fun, and each has distinct kick-back reactions, but youll probably focus on one or two of your favorites.
The bottom line is Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix is an all out blasting good time. If you like first-person shooters with lots blood, fire fights, screaming and explosions then youll rip through this loving every minute of it.
