The Conduit

...for conveying water...

But the Wii's lack of power doesn't explain the boring story that had me tapping the A button as fast as I could during cutscenes. There's some mumbo jumbo about some shadow organization that's plotting to take over the world using aliens or something; I don't know, it didn't make a lot of sense. Worse still was the ending -- if you can call it that. I was playing a level and after killing all the enemies, a cutscene triggered and the end credits started to roll. Say what? Where's the climactic boss fight and the sense of dramatic build up? Oh, and to top it all off, there's an obvious setup for a sequel. Sigh.

The funny thing is, after wrestling with the terrible controls for the five hours, thirteen minutes and eleven seconds it took me to beat the game (before you set the Internet aflame over how "short" the game is, I took the most direct route to the end and didn't look for all the secret rooms and discs scattered around -- most of you will probably take a little bit longer), I was actually glad the game had ended. I will admit that the weapon aiming, a crucial aspect of FPS games that I've never really enjoyed on the Wii or any console game for that matter (I'm a diehard keyboard and mouse fan), is actually handled really well in The Conduit. I'd go so far as to say it's the best I've seen in a Wii title. Turning your viewpoint is smooth and there are menu options that let you customize pretty much every aspect of the interface that you could want. I played with the default and was absolutely happy with it.

DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS IDIOTS REVIEW. Read IGN's Review if you want a real Review of this game. This guy obviously went in to this game with a bad mood. OMG, he is so completely wrong here. I have been a gamer for over 20 years, and never have I read a review I disagree with More. First off, the Graphics are absolutely STUNNING for a Wii Game. Bump Mapping is present everywhere you look. The Lighting is Next Gen and the Textures are High Res. This is, by far, the best looking Wii game ever made!! He is flat out lying telling you that this game has "Unimpressive Visuals". The controls are also some of the Best I have seen on the Wii, or any shooter. The level of customization that is available to you in real time while you are playing is nothing short of jaw dropping. You can change the size of the dead zone if you wanted, that is how detailed it is. Oh, and the reviewer forgot to mention that you can CUSTOMIZE THE MOTION CONTROLS AS WELL!!!!! If he didnt like how you throw a grenade and how you Melee, he should have taken the time to look at the god damn options in the menu and changed the controls to his liking instead of complaining about them for 2 paragraphs! READ IGN's REVIEW IF YOU WANT A REAL REVIEW!! I own this game, and this guy is completely wrong, and this is the firs time I have ever felt so compelled to go on the comments and write something like this.

Really? This is your review? It contradicts IGN's review in almost every regard. The graphics don't destroy Goldeneye? Are you just remembering Goldeneye through rose colored glasses? This guy obviously doesn't appreciate the importance of giving the game his full attention. He admitted he had not even played the multiplayer. He admitted he didn't even touch the custom control options. He admitted he took the shortest path possible, as if he was being punished by his boss and his punishment was having to review this game.

The story was confusing and convoluted? Everyone else says it's rather predictable. Are you confused because you skipped all the story elements because you don't care about this game? What if I watched half of a movie, then critiqued it for being confusing? That would be ridiculous.

Yes, this is a straightforward shooter. Yes, it can't beat the shooters on the other systems. No one is expecting it to. But as a Wii game, with a full online setup, with unprecedented custom controls, it's kind of a big deal. Plus your top six list on the front page lists this game as possibly the best Wii FPS. Conflicting messages...

It's one thing to harp on a game. You're a reviewer, that's what you're supposed to do. But to do so with such blatant disregard for journalistic integrity is absurd.

Jeez, calm down EKGPROD. Review = opinion. Just because you disagree with a review, or opinion, does not discredit it in anyway.

Besides, everyone needs to read multiple reviews anyways. Or better yet, play the game and decide for yourself.

Its no biggie

Forget the Illuminati, sounds like you're to blame for your own bad experience. You can modify every aspect of the controls in this game (yes, that includes the motion controls). It amazes me that you mention interface customization, but not this revolutionary option. Hopefully, this freedom to tweak will be contagious. People trust GamePro, and expect their reviews to be thorough. Take your time with the next one.

EPIC!! OWN!!!.... right on brother. I'm a sony fanboy, but this is ONE game that I truly respect. I've been following this bad boy for over 2 years. I recommend every1 to goto IGN.com for this review.. The game has impressive visuals for a wii game and the controls are unbelievable. you can customize them either way you like it. the only bad part I see is how long the game is . Both IGN and GP state the short 5- 8 hour game storyline. but at least HVS added multiplayer right?? aaah who cares let me stop vouching for the conduit and get back to my ps3/psp world!! lol :)

Every one says it's one of the best looking games on Wii, but here they say it looks like an N64 game. COME ON! And IGN even said it gets a PERFECT score for controls. The reviewer here even said they hate console FPS controls altogether... I know the game doesn't reinvent the FPS wheel, especially in terms of storyline, but how can you knock the story if you skipped it every chance you get? It almost sounds like he allready made up his mind about the game before he even popped it in. I reccomend that people CHECK OUT IGN's REVIEW before judging.
