Overlord II (PS3)

The Charm in the Harm

And yet, despite its hand-ups, Overlord II is a smart parody of the moral pendulum in games. The Overlord is evil incarnate, a villain through and through, so his ethical outlook isn't a choice between naughty or nice. Instead, you'll balance your malevolence against the potential reward; for instance, enslaved townsfolk offer you piles of money over time but slaughtering them provides instant benefits. Juggling your path down the dark side is half the fun and there's a constant sense of satisfaction that comes from taking over the world. Imagine that.

Part of what makes the world worth conquering is that it's so lovable. The pleasant atmosphere and delightful settings mix well with the twisted humor of your wanton violence. Your minions are all too anxious to club cute baby seals, burn fluffy bunnies and destroy tree-hugging elf hippies. The addition of a Roman Empire-esque enemy in the fantasy world is great as well -- I still crack up thinking about minions wearing too-large Legionnaire armor while riding on wolves or stabbing unicorns in the Coliseum.

i find hard time believing this review.. in your final verdict.. you say that it sounds like this game has issues.. which implies that you have never played it.. so i sense some shennanigans going on here

"I'll still play it because the game sounds like it's still fun but I'm preparing myself for my fair share of frustration. " - Gamepro reviewer!!! sounds like you never played the game at all, and your just taking a wild random guess! seriously man? you messed up the conduit's review which quite frankly don't care (sony fanboy! lol).. and now you go on and bash this game?? team xbox and other sites gave it 8 and higher. Codemasters should of learned from their mistakes and should do a better job.. UGH

The Review is done by a Different person than the Person who Wrote The Verdict....And If you Continued to Finsh reading it You wpould have read.......(I'll still play it because the game sounds like it's still fun but I'm preparing myself for my fair share of frustration.) Which Implies The Person who wrote the Verdict Did not play it yet......

The Verdict is a chance for another editor to comment on the review. The review itself was written by Mitch. You are correct: I did not play the game myself. But neither did I write the review.
