Take a bizarre ride to the Rez side. Think of it as a shooter with the Lawnmower Man versus DJ Funky Bass.

At first glance, it?s as if the Lawnmower Man had a funky bass soundtrack and was a shooting game instead of a hackneyed cyber movie. A deeper look at Rez reveals something far more bizarre and infinitely more interesting. Cool vector-style graphics that concentrate on giving off a trippy vibe instead of throwing thousands of polygons at the screen vividly render your protagonist and foes in a progression of mind-dazzling levels. Be forewarned: The lighting effects can be intense?something you?ll either love or just plain hate.

Ultra bass-thumping tunes that magically mesh with the game?s ever-changing sound effects will draw you in and keep you enthralled. Controls don?t require lightning-fast reflexes, but rather a surprising amount of strategy and timing.

Unfortunately, the game is super short and seems more like an experiment than a full game. Rez is still a rare experience that introduces a bafflingly surreal world that somehow makes perfect sense in an upside-down way.
