WHAT IS IT? An 800-point downloadable content pack for Crackdown that delivers three new vehicles, street racing events on six courses, four new weapons, a cloaking device, new multiplayer mini-games, and new achievements.
PROS:
- Race Car demolishes old racing records.
- Driving around town with gang members harpooned to your ride.
- Blowing friends to bits for fun in new Rocket Tag showdowns, or for orbs in Stockpile matches.
- Cloaking device helps with difficult missions, and adds a surprising amount to multiplayer shenanigans.
CONS:
- Racing enjoyment hampered by some moments of wonky physics, and brutally cheap AI.
- Lobber gun is really just a third rocket launcher variant.
- New vehicles don't morph based on driving ability.
- The mini-gun's cycle-up time is a bit long.
FINAL VERDICT: Never mind the content quotient, the sheer amount of new fun this downloadable content pack nets you for ten bucks makes purchase a no-brainer. Grab it immediately, especially if you have a friend you can play the new multiplayer mini-games with.
