Rare (the developer) revives its SNES blockbuster in fine fashion for the GBC, putting all of the original levels, enemies, tricky jumps, and barrel-busting fun into the palm of your hand. Rare has also added two new bonus levels and several mini-games to give you hours of terrific gaming. The variety of gameplay--from standard platform hopping to swimming, mine car riding, playing as a frog or rhino, and more--keeps this game fresh and fun throughout the many levels.

Donkey, Diddy, and the rest of the Kong family look great, as do the backgrounds and bad guys. This game didn?t miss a step in its conversion from 16-bit to 8-bit.

If you missed Donkey Kong Country in its SNES days, or if you?re just nostalgic for the first appearance of Diddy Kong--along with Funky, Cranky, and Candy Kong--then this game is a must-buy.
