Two Worlds, One Adventure
Twilight Princess packs two full size worlds to explore: the light filled, pastoral world of Link's home, and the dark, evil world of the mysterious invaders. But the differences aren't just cosmetic, as Link changes to adapt to each world, becoming a wild, vicious wolf in the dark shadow world. When a malevolent force invades his home world, the once lush, green valleys become overrun with deadly creatures and masked in twilight.
It's Much, Much Bigger than Windwaker
In an exclusive inter view with GamePro, Nintendo VP George S. Harrison confirmed the size Link's massive new adventure, stating that Twilight Princess is well over 70 hours long. As previously mentioned, one can easily spend more than a whopping 100 hours in this Wii launch title.
Hey, it's just like my evening commute over the Bay Bridge!
No Online Play (Yet)
Despite fans wishes for additional, online gameplay elements, Twilight Princes will not ship with any multiplayer or online features. However, now that the Wii has broadband connectivity, it's possible that Nintendo might one day offer some form of downloadable extra content, or include online play in the next Zelda adventure (fingers crossed).
Strong Graphical Similarities
Despite the radical control differences and mirrored gameplay, the Wii and GameCube versions of Twilight Princes look nearly identical. Critics have attacked the Wii's supposedly underpowered hardware specs, citing Twilight Princess as an example. However, because the game was developed to be interchangeable between the two systems, Twilight Princess isn't a pure Wii game, but rather a maxed out GameCube game. As Nintendo's Harrison explains, the graphics in both versions of the game represent a GameCube title running at full potential.
There's nothing wrong with a little afternoon dip
That Said, The Graphics are Underwhelming for a Zelda Game
Unfortunately, it's true. It just doesn't have that magical sparkle that Zelda usually has. Zelda titles have typically been some of the best looking games on their respective Nintendo consoles. But it's obvious Nintendo spent so much time on the Wii controls that the game suffers in other areas. And the Wii's underwhelming technical specs surely share part of the blame.
It's Still Zelda!
Don't let all the new features and wolf-man transformations fool you - Twilight Princess still feels and plays like true a Zelda title. Where Windwaker marked a visual departure for the series, this latest entry recalls the glory days of grand adventure in Hyrule.
Ahh, the pose of triumph
