Sega has been hit and miss about updating their major franchises, but thankfully they've had the wisdom to keep one of the greatest RPG titles of all time from being moth-balled: Phantasy Star.
Sega has been hit and miss about updating their major franchises, but thankfully they've had the wisdom to keep one of the greatest RPG titles of all time from being moth-balled: Phantasy Star. Although the essence of Phantasy Star is quite different now that the game can be played online, the core story is still intact and can also be enjoyed alone. Your fully customizable character works in a team with three other characters that can either be played by the computer or by friends online?as long as they are in the same part of the story as you. For a truly international flare, you can play against people from different parts of the world. Each person sends commands in their native language, and the Dreamcast translates the command into your own tongue. You are limited to what you can say, using only a preset collection of symbols and simple phrases, but it's still pretty darn impressive. Look for a full Hands On soon.Check out more screenshots on the next page!
