Namco only showed Ace Combat 4 once per day at the Tokyo Game Show, and, thanks to some skillful bribery and stealthy informants, GamePro.com was there! Check out this rare glimpse of this awesome PS2 fight sim.
Namco is taking off on the PS2 with the fourth Ace Combat. A forty-five second video clip was enough to convince the world that AC4 will rival any PC flight sim's graphics and keep the fun right where the previous Ace Combat games have placed it: right up front. The gameplay shown featured the F-22 Raptor; the latest multi-role fighter in the U.S. arsenal, but if history is any indication, AC4 will feature a selection of other craft as well. The graphics look spectacular with smooth shorelines and detailed mountains down below, and whipped-cream clouds and hot sunlight above. Keeping track of multiple opponents in air combat is key, and the latest version of Ace Combat will retain the great camera control of the last AC games. Look for Ace Combat 4 to fire up the afterburners on the PS2 in 2001.Check out these movies!
