Enix is bringing its famous dancing and rhythm series to the PS2 in Bust A Move: Dance Summit 2000. The two previous Bust A Move games (known as Bust a Groove in the U.S.) had an infectious style of gameplay, but now the game has undergone a complete reinvention for the new platform. Enix has thrown out the directional D-pad button presses. Instead, the action all takes place on the Square, Triangle, Circle, and X Buttons. In previous Bust A Move games, you only had to time the last button command to the beat, but this time around, you'll have to time them all. With the power of the PS2, the backgrounds are even more animated, showing off some wild effects along with classic style arcade games. A cast of all new characters, divided into "teams" dubbed the School Mates, Frower Dancing Team, Data Be Bops, and Cusu Cusu, rounds out the new look. The dancing action is hot, but the Japan ship date is still TBA, so keep your dancin' shoes polished up until there's more information.
