Though much of the game remains shrouded in mystery, the long-awaited 3D science-fiction role-playing game Anachronox is slowly nearing completion. As private detective Sylvester "Sly" Boots, you will explore hundreds of locations on six different planets with a motley crew of cohorts including the gnome-like Grumpos Matavastros, a washed-up superhero named Paco Estrella, and your old flame, the mercenary Stiletto Anyway. Combat will be a combination of real-time and turn-based action, similar to Final Fantasy's "Active Time Battle" system, and with the Elementor Weapon system, you'll be able to construct your own weapons for dealing with the many enemies you will encounter in your journeys. RPG fans can look for Anachronox when it travels into stores in early 2001.
