The exciting conclusion of the Xenosaga trilogy will finally bring resolution to this epic story driven fantasy world. For those uninitiated, Xenosaga is a story set in a futuristic world where mankind is threatened by an unknown species called the Gnosis. Throughout the previous episodes, you follow the story of a research scientist named Shion who becomes entangled in an interplanetary race to obtain an otherworldly relic dubbed the Zohar, which has the power to eradicate the Gnosis and deliver mankind from the brink of extinction.
Xensaga Episdoe III: Also Sprach Zarathustra ("Thus Spoke Zarathustra") picks up one year after the events of Episode II: Jenseit von Gut und Bose. Shion has resigned her post from Vector Industries after confirming that her employer is to blame for the Gnosis phenomenon and has now joined an underground anti-Vector group called Scientia, whose goal is to expose Vector and its secrets to the world.
While Also Sprach Zarathustra will be the final conclusion to this trilogy, the game will institute a number of changes from its progenitor titles. Also Sprach Zarathustra will feature all the familiar characters from the previous games, but will also introduce a new one named T-elos who is a newly created android created by Vector Industries to replace KOS-MOS. Additionally, the art style of this third title will be a hybrid mixture of the first two games --retaining the anime style of the first title while mixing in the realistic style of the second title.
Moreover, the game engine for Also Sprach Zarathustra will sport a few new features, including a return of the Boost System, a new Break System, which can incapacitate your party members and enemies alike, and a new Skill Line System, which will allow you to customize attributes to trap Gnosis, launch preemptive attacks, or avoid battles altogether. Another new and improved aspect of Also Sprach Zarathustra is that there will be absolutely no load times. The game will load in the backend when you're near an area that may lead you from the Quest screen to the Battle screen.
And, what would a Xenosaga game be without its ES mechs. Also Sprach Zarathustra will feature revamped mechs for all playable characters. These ES' will feature two attacks per turn, redesigned weapons, and sport the ability to pick up items to customize ES special attacks.
Xensaga Episdoe III: Also Sprach Zarathustra looks like it will be the best chapter in the Xenosaga trilogy. With multiple mysteries revolving around the connection of the Zohar artifacts connection to Gnosis threat, and the COS-MOS and T-elos androids, this game will finally reveal and solve it all. One thing is for certain, you can expect all the characters storylines to converge for a euphoric confrontation.
