It's a misnomer to refer to Seaman for the Dreamcast as a game, and "virtual pet" over-simplifies matters. With advanced voice recognition and AI that allows your Seaman to evolve even when you've turned the creature off for a breather, the task of successfully raising your pet is an ode to commitment. This guy needs constant attention, and neither Seaman nor your guide (voiced by Leonard Nimoy) will hesitate to brow beat you for a lack thereof. Here you will find an unapologetic glimpse into an ofttimes harsh and grotesque hybrid realm of pseudo-Darwinism. Beyond that only patience, curiosity, and self-imposed isolation will reveal the true nature of this man-beast known only as Seaman.
