With Perfect Dark on the shelves for the N64, console gamers are starting to buzz about first-person shooters. Now Eidos has teamed with some Goldeneye alumni to begin work on TimeSplitters, a PS2 FPS that hopes to take the genre to new levels. While maintaining the frantic pace of Goldeneye, TimeSplitters should prove easier to play than Unreal or Quake, opening the experience for new console shooter fans. The most intriguing thing about TimeSplitters is its proposed level editor, which will allow you to create your own deathmatch levels from scratch. TimeSplitters could be the next big time killer when it debuts in time for the holidays this year.
