Thread the NeedleAll eyes are on Square's next Final Fantasy title, but smart role-playing fans are watching Threads of Fate, Square's upcoming action RPG. Threads of Fate promises to deliver never-before-seen game mechanics and an involving storyline that should have even jaded gamers gripping their controllers with glee.
Accept Your Fate
In ToF, you'll take control of either a mysterious young man named Rue or a goofy girl who calls herself Princess Mint. Both characters have their own unique storyline, so you can count on a bit of replay value once you've beaten the game with one character. ToF's most intriguing gameplay feature is its creature-morphing system, in which your character can morph into any creature whose token you've found. The ability to morph into a monster and use its special abilities is definitely a unique addition to the crowded RPG genre.
A Beautiful Tapestry
RPG fans that like more hack-n-slash with their involving plots will want to give Threads of Fate a look. Though it seems a bit childish so far, with its super-deformed characters and wacky plot devices, Threads of Fate should have no problem snagging the hardcore action/RPG fan when it hits shelves in early July.
