Run the Gauntlet
Midway's finally bringing their arcade sequel to Gauntlet to the Dreamcast, and it looks like a solid translation this time around. With somewhat lackluster N64 and PSX versions, Gauntlet Legends definitely deserves another look, with its straightforward and addictive hack-n-slash gameplay and all sorts of extras just for the Dreamcast version.

The Legend Continues
In case you don't remember, Gauntlet was an old-school dungeon crawl that pit players against unstoppable hordes of enemies in the interest of escaping the catacombs and saving the world. You collect gold, keys, magic potions and other power-ups to help you stave off the uncountable enemies that just keep on coming. Gauntlet Legends continues the tradition with new 3D levels and enemies, and boatloads of crazy power-ups like Limited Growth, which doubles your size, Reflecting Shot, which makes your missiles bounce off of dungeon walls, and more.

World Needs GauntletBadly
With eight characters selectable from the start (four originals from the arcade version, plus four new classes) and super-fast four-player cooperative action, Gauntlet Legends should make for lots of mindless orc-killing fun when it hits shelves on June 7.
