After years upon years of different modifications to Street Fighter II, Capcom finally cracked open arcades with a complete overhaul of the series. Street Fighter III: Double Impact will contain both the original SFIII and its update Second Impact, guaranteeing that Capcom fans get their fill of the new cast. And what a new cast it is! Only three characters from Street Fighter II (Ryu, Ken and Akuma) make appearances, but they're joined by a rowdy band of promising newcomers, including a backstreet brawler named Alex and a strange Russian rubber-man named Necro. Also new to SFIII is the "parry" technique; if you press toward the enemy's attack rather than holding back to block, you may parry the attack and gain an easy counter-hit. With insanely smooth animations and the ability to select your character's Super Arts before each round, Street Fighter III should make quite an impact on the Dreamcast in early June.
