Super Princess Peach

It's about time Nintendo let Princess Peach be the heroine for once.

All these years, Mario and Luigi have been the ones to save Princess Peach. Not this time, fellas! With the help of his minions, Bowser's gotten his hands on the magical Vibe Wand, an object infused with the power to change your emotions. Capturing Mario and Luigi, Bowser didn't think for one second that anyone would rescue them, let alone Princess Peach.

The Many Colors of Human Emotions
Embarking on her journey to rescue the Mario Bros. with her magical parasol, Princess Peach finds herself on an island where the Vibe Wand, including herself, has affected everything. She uses her magical parasol to whack things, and later on she will gain different abilities that will aid her in her battles, such as being able to jump-pound, float in the air, and shoot fireballs.

However, in addition to her different abilities, Princess Peach has four vibes that help her in her quest: "Joy" will make her float in the air and create whirlwinds; "Rage" will make her light on fire and stomp the ground; "Gloom" will make her cry waterfalls of tears and run quickly; and "Calm" will help her heal. With these four vibes, Princess Peach can get through many obstacles that seem impossible. Using Vibes can use up her Vibe Gauge, so aside from using Vibe Crystals to regenerate the energy, players can also use her parasol to pick up enemies and absorb them to get energy.

It's A Small World After All
The game itself has eight areas with about six stages each. Rescuing three Toads and collecting puzzle pieces and music notes, Princess Peach will progress through each level using her abilities and vibes. In some instances, the use of DS's technological components is necessary; before each boss level, there will be a mini-game incorporating the touchpad. In other levels, players will use the built-in microphone to help defeat enemies. To increase your strength and Vibe Gauge, players can purchase Tough Coffee and Vibe Tea, similar to leveling up HP and MP. Players can also purchase different umbrellas to get new abilities.

Super Princess Peach looks like a promising, fun game so far. Nintendo fans, old and new alike, should definitely look forward to the final release of this game.
