The Hawk Flies OnThe next generation of Tony Hawk is on the way as Crave jumps on the skateboarding bandwagon to deliver Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for the Dreamcast. If you've somehow missed out on the phenomenon that surrounds this game, this version should get you off of your seat and onto a board to start pulling off some nasty tricks. Dreamcast owners can finally learn what PlayStation and Nintendo 64 owners already know -this is some of the most fun you can have on a videogame console.
High Flying, High Resolution
From the looks of the preview version we've been playing, it seems that Crave is doing exactly what they should be - namely, keeping all of the terrific feel of the controls in there and just updating the graphics with a ton more detail and some kick-ass effects. Although the preview version was a long ways from being finished, you could really notice the new graphics on the skaters themselves, as you can see minute details in their costumes, boards, and even in their faces as you play. The familiar locations have yet to get the graphical once-over, but you could definitely see the enhanced lighting effects begin to take shape.
As Sick As It Gets
As long as the gameplay remains the same and the environment graphics shape up as nicely as the enhanced character models, then the Dreamcast will have another must-own title and Crave will have a blockbuster on its hands when Tony Hawk's Pro Skater ollies onto shelves this May.
