No new PlayStation console launch would be complete without an all-new Ridge Racer game.
Slick As Greased LightningNo new PlayStation console launch would be complete without an all-new Ridge Racer game. Ridge Racer V, the latest in the venerable arcade-style racing series, will give you everything you've come to expect from Ridge Racer games, plus somewhat improved control and simply amazing graphical flair.
This is Your Ridge Racer
You'll be able to start off RRV with your very own team this time, rather than choosing one of the teams already given to you. You'll have a garage to store your cars and a design feature that will allow you to customize your racing machines. The cars range in abilities from smooth and steady to slick and quick, and you'll need all your racing skills to survive. Thankfully, RRV plays much more like Ridge Racer Type 4 than the original Ridge Racer, so you can look forward to much smoother controls and tighter races.
It's the final Stretch! Hang In There!
Gamers chomping at the bit to see what the PS2 can do should just keep their eyes on RRV, with its awesome track designs and amazingly fast frame rate. Its gameplay may be eerily reminiscent of the PSX Ridge Racers, but its look is something you've never seen before. With any luck, Ridge Racer V will cross the finish line with the PS2 this Fall.
