Back in the early days of the NES when Kung Fu, Pro Wrestling, Duck Hunt and Super Mario Bros. ruled the world, there was a kick ass dirt bike racing game where you could build your own tracks. Of course that was the original Excitebike, a 2D masterpiece of high-octane thrills and spills, a feeling that Nintendo is going to try and recapture in the 3D realm with Excitebike 64. There will be big time jumps, in-air stunts, turbo boosts and more in over twenty different tracks ranging from indoor stadiums to outdoor canyons and water jumps. Excitebike 64 will also be the only N64 motorcross game offering four-player simultaneous racing. And if you're feeling a bit nostalgic, you'll be able to unlock the original NES version of Excitebike and take a trip down memory lane. Excitebike 64 is burning rubber to hit stores on May 1.
