50 Cent: Bulletproof

Though still early, 50 Cent's inaugural console title is hitting many of the right notes.

50 Cent is regarded as something of an enigma, so perhaps it's only fitting that his upcoming game--50 Cent: Bulletproof--was developed in secrecy. But the darkness has finally lifted, as we're happy to report that the early version of Bulletproof we played is showing promising signs of life.

50 Is What 50 Does
Above all else, the shooter-happy gameplay most closely resembled that of SOCOM 3...certainly not a bad thing. 50 himself looked (and sounded) great, and the all-star cast--including Young Buck, Tony Yayo, Dr. Dre, and Eminem--were eerily lifelike. The storyline is sure to tantalize 50 fans, with the slick cinemas chronicling a half-true, half-fantasy tale of how 50 received his legendary nine bullet wounds.

50 Ways to Die
But the game's biggest claim to fame will likely be its massive archive of unlockable content; the developers promise that there are over 200 assets to unlock, from brutal new attacks (such as the aptly-named "Bitch Fling") to some 13 exclusive 50 Cent and G-Unit cuts, as well as over 50 tracks from 50's archives. In short, there's a lot here for 50 fans to love.

The real question is whether the final version can live up to the massive hype. 50 Cent may be Bulletproof, but is he critic-proof? Look for the final verdict soon.
