Pegasus Knights! Myrmidons! Summoners! The new Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones is absorbing tactical RPG that challenges Advance Wars and Final Fantasy Tactics.
All is not well on the continent of Magvel; war has suddenly broken out among the five formerly peaceful kingdoms, and behind it all lies something...demonic. But then, if you've played the series, you've probably already guessed that.Nintendo's latest Fire Emblem import continues in the vein of the others, melding deep turn-based combat with a rich role-playing storyline, much like Intelligent Systems' other game, Advance Wars. It promises to be as deep as Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. A new leveling system will let players choose a class after getting a certain number of experience points, but several characters will also have unique abilities. Deploy your units in the field and maximize their abilities, but be careful--once they die, they are gone forever. The game is still 2-D but that works well for the genre, and monsters are drawn from classic fantasy mythology. Flying units like Pegasus Knights will be a distinct advantage in maps where mobility is key.
All fans of tactical RPGs are sure to be looking forward to Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones.
