Just back from a visit to EA and we've got screenshots of NASCAR 2000 from EA Sports. Did we say screenshots? We meant 40 screenshots!! If you want to see NASCAR 2000 we've got it!

Another NASCAR title is going to be roaring it's way onto the market come late March, and it goes by the name of NASCAR 2000. This is the second crack at the NASCAR license from EA Sports.

Features include; improved physics and sounds, import your own picture similar to NHL 2000, 18 NASCAR tracks and 5 fantasy tracks, ability to adjust details as small as your tire pressure in each tire, gear ratio, fuel load and more. Also included will be 30 NASCAR drivers as well as some non-NASCAR guys like Richard Petty's Grandson Kyle Petty. Among all the improvements is a new mode of play, known as Race Weekend, it will take a driver from the garage, to practice to qualifying rounds all the way to the race and happy hour.

This new version will support a software mode, so you don't have to have a 3D card, though it will really help. Multiplayer will be supported for up to 4 players over the Internet, but you will probably want a fast connection. The graphics as you can see below are pretty good looking. Details like rubbing with other cars causing black marks or even tire circles on cars will do a good job of showing off the improved engine. Crashing will damage the car pretty good, but don't expect the drivers to get out of the car screaming on fire or anything similar, NASCAR would have a fit if EA did that. From what we've seen so far, NASCAR 2000 is looking pretty good, a demo for the game should be out in the next couple of weeks, check the downloads area then.
